The Amarylis is such a generous flower with its size and intense colour. For my painting I placed it in one of my vases that I inherited from my Granmothers collection. I added the two Bermuda night Herons that stand haughtily on guard.
In the first colour-way the vibrant red holds the painting together . In the second colourway the muteted tones offer an alternative. And in the third colourway the soft sage colour combined with the purple of the heather recalls us back to nature.
